Again with the priests!

This time it's all _inbetween_'s fault. I'm a crack addict; the idea of a SGA/Father Ted fusion was just too cracktastic to resist. Also, it may be an Ireland thing. Yes, I'll blame my adopted country! Whee ( Read more... )

And it is absolutely not porn! How sick do you think I am? It's a series of badly strung together FT jokes, is really what it is. CRACK. You could read it, though; I promise, it's perfectly safe.

Well, I can't tell you how relieved I am to hear that! We know Major Ted's a junkie, but still...

You know, I found a copy of Changine Places in (Modern) Greek last night... (long story. I didn't buy it, but I had fun reading extracts!)

Now, Ireland: I can't believe you'd prefer the horrible winter in my country to Xmas in L.A. ("I think Santa's getting sunstroke" -- Quick, name that movie?). Nevertheless, this works out well for me! I'll be flying in (to Belfast) on Dec. 26th, aka Boxing Day (Up North) or St. Stephen's Day (Down South), and I'm actually leaving from Dublin airport on Jan. 5th, but at 10.30 a.m., which doesn't leave a lot of time for drinking, even by Irish standards... My dad has volunteered to drive me to the airport, so I'll probably take the free ride and go down that morning (rather than come the night before and stay in Dublin overnight, which is a practical but expensive alternative). However, while bearing in mind that 1) I haven't seen my family in ages and I need to spend some serious Quality Time with them, and 2) I have to divide my 10 days or so between my divorced parents, it should be possible for us to meet up somewhere. Particularly when I'll be in Belfast (where my mother lives; my dad's place is outside [London]Derry), Dublin is within easy reach, and I'd love to go down there for a day or something. Alternatively, have you been to Belfast yet? It's actually not a bad place to visit, although I'm afraid my mum's house barely has room for me these days, so I can't offer overnight accommodation -- and the city's changed so much (for the better) since I fled from it over a decade ago that I'll not be much use as a guide!

Anyway, that's my story. It seems like something would be possible to arrange. If you don't mind, let's talk nearer the time, either metaphorically by e-mail or on the telephone when I get to Ireland. SOund ok?
