*raises hand* Love Life on Mars. Have seen first 4 eps of Ashes to Ashes and am not sure if I like it, I spend to much time being horrified and embarrassed at the sexual harassment and sexism she has to put up with and saying Was it really that bad in 1981? OMG REALLY? I continue to love Gene Hunt though!

I just posted a link to a LoM/AtA vid that's really cool, in case you haven't seen it.

Looking forward to the fic!

Ooh, yes: I LOVE that vid. So clever and well done. Plus, that song is totally addictive.

The sexism in A2A doesn't bother me so much (I've dealt with worse shit at work recently); my issues with it stem more from the feeling that the creators don't really know what the show's about anymore. Still, the fun bits and the AWESOME AMAZING HOTNESS OF GENE HUNT sufficiently outweigh that, I think. ;-)

You've dealt with WORSE lately? How is that even possible in 2007?

I was reading the other day that the creators plan to do "bold" things with the plot (more than LoM!) because they're looking at three seasons.

Sadly, I'm learning that it's ALL too possible in 2007 (or 2008). I spent much of last year at a horrible job with a creepy boss who gave unsolicited shoulder rubs and called the female workers "sweetie." (Can I have an EW?) My current position's much better, but I'm a woman in a male-dominated industry (car craft mags) and some of the offensive sexist shit that they print just blows my mind. I've tried to gently call them on it, but I've been completely rebuffed. LE SIGH.

Three would be nice! I read an interview with Philip Glenister in which he said he thought they might stop at two, but maybe he can be persuaded? NEED MORE GENE HUNT KTHX.*

*'Cause he puts the sex back in sexism? I confuse myself sometimes.

See, the dilemma I'm having is, what if the choice between playing Gene Hunt for a third season coincided with being offered Dr Who?

(I'm still working on the power of wishful thinking aspect)

I've hit this same problem with my other choice for Eleven, one Mr. David Hewlett. (Technically English! Born in Surrey! You know he would be awesome!) I think I'm ultimately not willing to give up either Gene Hunt or Rodney McKay, even for potential Doctory awesomeness. David Tennant will just have to stick around until my other candidates are good and ready, dammit!

I'm sorry, I don't think he's going to. I work with the biggest Dr Who fan in the world, and he says it looks like the (I think just 4) specials they're doing next year instead of an actual season will be his last year.

Oh, I'm pretty well aware of that. But since these are all fantasyland wishes (are they not?), I can DREAM, right? ;-)

Right, sorry, my bad.

And Rose will come back, and that will all end happily. And Jack will make regular appearances in adventures and the Doctor will flirt with him even more. And there will be kissing.

And Rose Martha will come back, and that will all end happily.

Fixed! ;-)

Thanks, you made me choke laughing.

Since it seems likely that Martha will be joining Torchwood, can we compromise with Martha&Jack regularly joining Ten&Rose for hijinks aboard the TARDIS?

Of course, now i want Ianto to come to. Rawr.

Okay, I could see that working. As long as the Doctor publicly acknowledges how awesome Martha is.

I'm sure Jack will ensure Ianto comes lots.

Oh, absolutely. Martha is totally awesome. What compares with Walking the Earth for a year? Well, okay, maybe absorbing the heart of the TARDIS...jeez, Companions nowadays are really overachievers aren't they? I wonder if Donna has any idea what she's in for?

Jack+Ianto+Martha - now there's a pretty picture. *goes to a happy place*
