A Whole New Appreciation for Hot Water
My water heater went kapoop on Friday and let me tell ya'll - I understand all too well now why folks didn't bath much before the days of water heaters. Have frozen my hands off just from washing them. I was concerned that the bluish tint to them would not go away, leaving people with the impression I was coming down with Smurfitis. :O The thought of putting my entire person in an ice cold shower? Aaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Luckily I have offers from friends and family to use their facilities for bathing which I have used and greatly appreciated. The plumber is coming today. *happy dance* Thank goodness!! Just washing dishes has proven challenging to the point I made such a mess that I just gave up. Hopefully will be having a nice hot shower this evening after washing dishes and clothes. :D
Have started reading Histories by Herodotus. Interesting thus far. The father of history has some mean old critics out there, but as the intro points out and I had considered on my own, his work is quite astonishing. Granted he did not completely separate events from the will of the gods, but no one before had ever thought to write about the world's events as wrold events, considering several viewpoints of the same events. So we shall see....
