Well.
That was an interesting episode. Good stuff happened, bad stuff happened (NATHAN!!!!), people were badass (go, badass!Peter, impress me!)...
Apart from a certain character death, everything was shiny, in fact. Except for this whole idea of getting Matt to put a mental block on Sylar's own memories, force him to shapeshift into Nathan and make him believe that he is Nathan. Which, on the surface, seems smart.
But that little scene with the clock? Shows that what they did wasn't all that smart. The person that they're pretending is Nathan isn't, and I'm afraid it's going to start showing more and more. Frankly, considering that this was Noah's and Angela's plan - and those two are pretty much the biggest schemers on this show - I'd have expected something a little better thought out.
(On reflection, we can let Angela off the hook on account of grief. But I'm still disappointed with Noah. *sigh*)
I suppose, though, that this does mean that at some point in Volume Five Fakeout!Nathan will revert back to Sylar completely, leading to much disarray and mayhem and people having to explain themselves. Which will be fun, I guess.
Also... (on an entirely un-Petrelli-related note)
I was wondering when Barbara was going to show up. Hadn't figured on her going around drowning people, but whatever...
Incidentally, seeing as we're between seasons again.... yep, I have that nagging urge to take the current canonical situation and play the What Happens Next game with some fic. Just like I did after S1 and S2... evidently this is becoming a thing.
