Massive art sampling post
Hey all, me again! :)
Some of you requested to see some art. I've not done any Frodo/Sam in the past couple years, it's true, but I thought some of you might be interested to take a look at what I have done. This'll be a massive post, graphic-wise, so heads up.
Scrubs
Some of you may remember this. I shifted over to it shortly before leaving this journal for two years. Thuri and I got into the show, then we both got into writing JD and Perry Cox, and we never looked back. We got into many more things after those two, which I'll delve into in a moment, but first, a couple of the better ones from that era:
First, some good ol' fashioned smut:

Next, an illustration from the 300+ page AU fantasy story we wrote, Changeling, which became something of a cult favorite in the fandom:
Thorne and Kaven
After Scrubs, Thuri and I branched into original characters for the first time with our Naga boys, Thorne (a farmboy-turned-mistrel) and Kaven (the prince who gave him that chance). We're posting their story, for those interested, in the journal Ophidian_mists.
Thorne is the smaller one; he's an okeetee cornsnake naga. Kaven, the larger, is a lavender.

One of a series of recent drawings done to more accurately demonstrate the considerable size difference between Thorne and Kaven. Being part-snake, they grow as fast as they're fed; Kaven's a prince, and Thorne is a poor farmboy. Hence: Kaven is bigger.
James and Charlie
Actually, Special Agent James Kaven and Charlie Thorne. If those last names look familiar, they should: these guys started out as AU human versions of the naga boys you just met. However, they quickly became characters in their own right, and now bear no resemblence to their naga counterpoints other than their physical appearance and names.
James, the shyer of the two, finally taking some sexual initiative. We kept them at pretty significant size differences, like their naga counterparts; James, 27, is 6'3", and Charlie's 4'10" at 24.
An idea for them that never actually happened, but that was too strong an image not to attempt to capture on paper.
SG1: Jack and Daniel
In a victory of which I'm quite proud, I managed to get Thuri watching Stargate: SG1, and soon after, we were writing (and I was drawing) Jack O'Neill and Daniel Jackson.
Animorphs: Jake and Marco
An old fandom of mine from before I even knew what Fandom was, I was thrilled when Thuri found all of these books on e-format and read enough of them to get into the Jake/Marco pairing.
Ninja Turtles
You read it right: after the release of the 2007 film, which Thuri and I saw together, we both admitted to having been in love with the heroes in a half-shell since we were kids. Now, we have a massive, inter-connected universe (affectionately dubbed the Megaverse) where, through connections to other stories, the turtles have the ability to shift human and are all, with the exception of Leo, paired up with significant others. We're still working on finding someone for Leo.
Rent
I haven't drawn much for it, because we've started writing new characters faster than I can keep up to draw them, but--
Misc Original Characters
Just a smattering of the original characters I have drawn:
Not really an OC, but AU enough to fit under this category; Mark Cohen of Rent, as we were writing him into the same universe as Changeling.
My blue alien prince, Keer. His people make a drug called Pretah, which allows him to look human. He comes to earth to learn why emotion is a bad thing, and ends up falling in love with a streetrat named Adam. In Megaverse, Keer's drug (altered by Donatello to perfect it and renamed Preshat) is what allows the turtles to become human at will. To give you an idea how intricate that verse is: Keer is in love with Adam, whose brother Cody falls for a guy named Nick, whose sister Rebecca ends up being Mikey's wife. Which is the tip of the iceberg.
Rama, the human (full name Rama Sundara, which means Pleasing Beauty) and Jerrick Maddison. Rama is a Class A Escort at Belle de Lara salon; Jerrick, a law student and part-time tutor, was given a gift certificate to the salon, and chose Rama as his escort for the evening. He ends up accepting a job as a tutor for Rama, and through the course of their time together, falls in love with the escort, and vows to put an end to the Salons, which he believes are little better than slavery houses. When a tragic accident separates them, Jerrick founds the SRRAP--the Society for the Recognition of the Rights of all Peoples--ultimately finding and freeing Rama and working to push through legislation that will outlaw Salons in the United States.
