Tangentially, there is a new animated Hellsing out, the OVA (Original Video Animation) version. 2 of the 3 hour-long episodes have been released. It's not a continuation but a remake, supposedly written to be closer to the original concept. How does it compare? The OVA is all about the visuals, and to that end it gleefully renders its action in flamboyantly gruesome detail. But, due also in part to time constraints, this means that story development is sacrificed in order to reach the next outbreak of violence as quickly as possible. It also lacks the impactful dialogue and musical style of the previous incarnation. It does, though, expand upon some things that weren't covered before, most notably the Nazi Werwolf connection, and the closing images imply that in the final volume we'll get to see the Major and Rip Van Winkle.
