What with one thing (escaped criminals /mental patients) and another (two paying jobs and one vocation) Dinah hadn't talked to Raven in... a while? Too long, anyway.

*Riiiiing tone of Dinah!*

Raven jumped when the phone began to play Pink's "Cuz I Can." She'd been looking through the phone earlier at pictures trying to see if any of them would spark any memories, but she hadn't expected a call.

The name on the screen said "Dinah," and she picked up the phone and touched the answer button. "Hello?" she said tentatively.

"Raven? Hey, how's it going?"

Dinah would be dancing to another Pink song at the moment, by complete coincidence (U and Ur Hand).

"How's life, how's Kayla, how's the job?"

Whoa, Dinah, slow down. But her voice did send a tingle of recognition through Raven.

"Is this Dinah?" she said. "I am sorry, but I am having problems with my memory at the moment."

That brought her up short. "You what?" Dinah's voice softened. "What happened? Are you okay?"

"Oh, I feel fine!" Raven said brightly. "Karla said the ritual went well, and this should only be temporary."

"Hold on, back up, ritual?" Dinah turned down the music, and flopped onto the window seat. "Does this have anything to do with you being a little... intense, the last couple months?"

"Intense? I do not know. But Karla said that I have six brothers, and some of them were affecting my behavior somehow." The thought of which was disquieting, but she was glad it was apparently dealt with.

"Is that what you mean by intense?"

"Ohhhhh. And also, crap. Yes, you do have six, and ... they're jerks, sorry." Dinah sighed, and then muttered, "Well, yeah, I mean, you kept saying how much you wanted to have a baby right now the last time I saw you."

Which, not judging! But it did seem out of the blue.

She'd definitely picked up on her brothers not being good people, which was a shame.

"I have not even thought about having a child," Raven said. "At least, not that I can recall at the moment. But I do think little Kayla is adorable. She is such a beautiful baby, is she not?"

"She is! I need to come visit again soon, I'm missing everything," Dinah lamented. She let out a breath, and regrouped. "So... how much do you remember about your life? Anything at all?"

"Not much," Raven admitted, letting a little unhappiness creep into her tone. "I wish that I did, but it is all very indistinct. I seem to remember feelings easier than specific memories."

"So do you want me to tell you things about the past?" Dinah asked, dubious. "Does Karla think you'll get your memory back soon?" At all?

"Certainly!" Raven said, cheerful again. "And, yes, I should. She and Lady Jaenelle have great skills with healing the mind. They would do so now, but I need time to recover from the trauma."

She was kind of glad she didn't remember the ritual itself now, actually.

"Ohh, that's good," Dinah said in relief. "Well... uh, you're an awesome healer. You love animals. You've helped save my life." She was starting to smile more, and it probably came through in her voice. "You are hilariously affectionate when high or drunk, and we met when I followed your spirit-self into the woods where your were meditating."

"I must be a good healer if I am the Court Healer here in Glacia," Raven said proudly. "And -- oh! My Soul-Self? It is white now! It used to be black?"
