TMNT tonight
First off, sorry I never gave that longer update of NYC I mentioned in my last LJ entry. I was hoping to do that, but I've just been so busy and now it's kind of too distant to really do justice writing about it. Instead I'd direct you to my girlfriend Nicole's LJ (indigowonder).
Just a quick update for now...I saw Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles tonight with Nicole at the Regal Theatre in Henrietta. This was the 2007 version of the fantastic series of old...There were plenty of laughs, cowabungas(!), and a very interesting plot that made this one live up to expectations, at least in my book. I know it is getting hit hard by the critics, but this was well done. It reminds me of the old years, the Turtle Power, Shell Shocked man! How about the return of The Foot, Master Splinter, and of course the famed four, the whole gang! This took me back in time by about 10-15 years. The time warp was a lot of fun.
And what would an entry be without mention of the Sabres? They are in first place in the NHL with four games left. They have 107 points, but Nashville and Detroit are right behind with 106. Ottawa has 102 and N.J. 100, so these teams are all making a push for the top spot overall, particularly in the Eastern Conference for the Sens and Devils. The season is quickly winding down and the part we've all been waiting for is ahead - STANLEY CUP PLAYOFFS. We've been through a lot of injuries, but players are just getting back - Connolly may even be back in a week or two, and Max Afinogenov should also be returning soon from his wrist injury. Our record is 50-21-7 and, man, like I said I can't wait for the playoffs! One more win, of our last four games (Pittsburgh, Boston, Washington, Philadelphia), will clinch us the Eastern Conference for the first time since 1979 and our first Northeast Division title since 1996. How about that! I will be going to Game One of Round One of the playoffs...still not sure who that will be against, but I am PSYCHED to be going to my first playoff game. They're already sold out through the first two rounds - Thank God I got a minipack back in August and was able to get a shot at tickets before the general public (who never got a shot at all, btw).
