Yesterday was the 35th anniversary of the day when the American Psychological Association deleted Homosexuality from it's list of disorders.

That's right, only 35 years ago, being gay was considered the same as being mentally deranged.

An LJ acquaintance of mine has posted a write up of how this all changed. It's fascinating.
