Once You've Learned it, You Can't Un-Learn It!
So FanX is coming up soon and that got me thinking about an old friend of mine, whom I spent two FanX's with back before I met the Gaians. I hadn't heard a word from him in the longest time. After he finished school he took off to the states for a job and a girl. I decided to see if I can get back in contact with him, so I started with the most obvious place on the net. Facebook. However, I failed, big time. So I took to google and put his name in to see what I could find. Nothing. So I tired one of his screen names. I get a few hits. I'll say this now, all the other hits besides the first one I clicked on were old and he hadn't posted on those forums for like a year.
So I clicked on the first one... And wow... once I found out what the name of the site was I was a bit taken back... But I pressed on and signed up so I could see his profile and find out if it was him... It was him alright... and I read a few posts to find out for sure before messaging him... I wasn't as much disturbed by what I read about him, as much as I was just shocked cause it was a friend of mine which I would of never of thought of him in such ways. Part of me wanted to message him but the other part of me wondered if it was really a good idea to do such a thing on such a site. I'm sure that when he started posting there he wasn't expecting someone he knew to find the site and know it was him.
Internet anonymity may be playing an important part in his comfort level for this kind of thingso knowing that his friends could find it might just scare him or something. So I'm really wondering if I should message him or not.
