The best time of the year
Is the time of spring.
The best time of day
Is in the morning, after the sun brings
Up the flower buds of May
Up from the ground and sometimes up to the trees.
In the atmosphere, the aroma is strong
Of pure sweetness, enough to tickle
Your nose when you walk out the door.
Mildew is honey on flowers that think
That they’re in charge of Beauty
And by the time the suns straight up in the sky,
The raindrops dry up and leave flowers to grow
Until the next morning when the best time is shown.
