Since my last real post, I had a birthday. I am officially 29 for the first time. I kicked off the birthday weekend by doing the
The next morning, I awoke and found I didn't have a hangover, but that I was still a little buzzed...whoops! I spent most of the day at work and my coworkers took me out to lunch at Dona Emilia's. Unfortunately our service was horrible and it took over an hour to get our food, but they apologized and comped the entire meal.
For my birthday, Tennis Boy took me to dinner at Musashino's--one of my favorite sushi places. We got dressed up and enjoyed a nice quiet night, just the two of us. When we got home, he gave me my birthday gift, which was a very nice set of earrings. I love getting jewelry.
The next night, my friends threw me a Mardis Gras/Carnival themed birthday party. The party was great and even though I had ridden 4.5 hour with Laurie earlier that day, I stayed till the last few people left. Lots of good food, homemade sangria, and my friends :)
I went ahead and headed to my parent's house on Sunday, b/c in my family we still celebrate eveyone's birthday, no matter how old you get. We had bbq and then strawberry shortcake (my favorite).
After the birthday fun ended, I had a whopping 3 days at work and then I packed up my bags and headed to Galveston with cam_ray , Jennifer and Teresa for a 4 day Cruise to Cozumel. It was a nice break from training and just being in Austin. We got back to Austin on Monday around 5pm. I spent most of Tuesday feeling like I was still on the boat, but it wasn't too bad. Last night I went ahead and got in a 30 minute run and then a 75 minute bike ride. I love being on vacation but I was missing the green belt and town lake. there is only so much you can do on a cruise ship.
So now that I am back, I am here few a couple of days and then I'll be packing up my stuff and heading for Lost Maples for a weekend of camping and riding in the hill country. *yay*
