The Cloud Room--morning
Ryan jerked awake, sitting up in bed so suddenly that for a long moment he had no idea where he was. What time was it? What was he hearing? Yelling? Were two of the kids having an arguement again? He shook his head, resting it in his hand a minute, trying to clear it. When he felt more awake he pushed the covers back. He was in the Cloud Room at the Mall. He looked at the empty bed beside him, remembering what had happened last night. Where was Salene? How could he have slept through her leaving?
He got up to start dressing. He had heard yelling, but it was quiet now. Where was his shirt? He looked around as he finished buttoning his pants. He couldn't find it. Absently he picked up Salene's things and folded them carefully. Wait. He looked down at the shirt and pants in his hands...If Salene's clothes were still here...then where was Salene?
