Life, The Universe....and Everything

The week has been frightfully full! (mmm-I love how that phrase sounds). Starting with the previous Saturday, I took a trip to Jolly Ol' IU.
JENN: This strawberry margarita is delightful! Let me show you it!
ALLISON: You spilled it on my pants!
JENN: You should be thankful I've already finished 7/8ths of it!

Sunday had me lunching with a friend from Marian, who's husband is an MBA at IU.
JENN: This salad is delicious! Let me show you it!
CARRIE: You flipped salad dressing all over the table!
JENN: You should be thankful it wasn't a margarita!

Monday Mom and I ventured to the mall and only succeeding at making comments on the terrible colors and fashions of the spring season, rather than purchasing anything.  Tuesday found me at the doctors discovering that instead of my cholesterol decreasing, it has, in fact,  increased. All of this despite continuing a regular exercise schedule and fairly cholesterol-free diet. It is not as if I go around shoving Twinkies in my face (as a matter of fact- I have never actually tasted a Twinkie).

The video interview was Wednesday. The questions were the exact same set as the previous school district. I feel I did fairly well, although my answers to the first school district were more consistent than this one. I forgot my answer to one question and completely made it up on the spot. I knew I had forgotten the answer, but I was unable to figure out what I meant to say until around midnight, a full nine hours later.

Thursday Mom and I managed a grocery store trip with No Shopping List. We also took a trip to Whole Foods/Former Wild Oats.  Sadly, this particular location seems to have cut the majority of the gluten-free baking mixes and cereals. Mom was very disappointed and upset with Whole Foods. I found several health care products I had been ogling online for a few months (face wash, moisturizer, deodorant, shampoo bar).  Friday was empty.

This morning, Dad accompanied Mom and I to the Farmer's Market at Traders Point Creamery. I found a vendor who was selling his own organic whole leaf tea, an organic fair trade chocolate vendor (guaranteed gluten-free for Mom), and a soap-maker. Right outside the barn was a wee campfire which gave everything a nice aroma. The campfire refused to be downtrodden by thickly falling snowflakes and cheerfully maintained a flame. I can't wait for the summer Market to start when everyone has fresh produce (although if Dad is going to come, we'll never get anything because the farmers will be sold out by the time we get there).
Eric came home this afternoon and spent a tense few hours watching the Purdue basketball game and making Rocky excited whenever good things happened.

Somewhere in the midst of all this, I made a trip to Broad Ripple Yarn, which is a lovely yarn store.  The ladies were very friendly and I enjoyed just feeling all the yarns they had. Of course I had to purchase some.  I have started yet another friendly little Elephant in a light grey superwash wool (which means it can be machine washed, so it is good for children and babies).  A family friend is expecting triplets in 7 months, so I will be making several more Elephants throughout the summer.  If this first wool elephant turns out well, then I shall probably make the next three from that type of wool.

I have one and a half days until I fly back.  Spring Break has been very relaxing and refreshing this year, even if the weather has been steadily uncooperative.
