Albert Wesker didn't expect Ada to be where he last knew she was. That didn't stop him from going to check first. A trapdoor was thrown open in a half-fallen down building about four down from hers, Wesker emerging and slamming it shut after him. A slab of concrete it would take two men to lift was dragged over and laid over it ( ... )

No more than two doors in the opposite direction, and just around the corner, Ada slowed. The building she was looking at could suit her purposes, give her a good view of the area. There was enough wall and supporting structure in tact for her to land, and it looked like it wouldn't cave in. Calculated risk. She raised the hookshot and fired ( ... )

No one had yet been able to discover if Albert Wesker truly had heightened senses. His eyesight was a given. Anyone who had watched him in combat knew that he could see in the dark or better than a normal human. Whether or not his hearing and sense of smell were heightened as well was unknown. He acted as if they were with his sniffing and the like, but in the end, much of what Wesker did was playacting for one reason or another.

Who knew if he heard the hookshot retracting or failed to catch her scent and realized she might have already fled? Either way, he didn't stop to turn the house upside down and search for her. Then again, it could have all been dumb luck on his part.

Walking back out into the street, Wesker gaze raked both sides, looking for the smallest hint of her. His pace was normal as he walked down the middle of the street although his voice was loud when he called out.

"You are trying what little patience I have, Miss Wong. I do not suggest pushing me further."

Ada stopped. For whatever reason, a perverse curiosity backed her up into the shadows of the building across from the one she'd used as vantage point. And she opened her big mouth.

"Oh? You have patience?" She called back, though she didn't bother to raise her voice very much, possibly because he wasn't that far off. More than likely she was one of those people that thought he had some manner of heightened senses.

The hookshot remained in a loose grip at her side, not in its holster. She wasn't going to raise it as a threat, but she wasn't going to be completely unprepared either. Especially when she was walking such a dangerous line. ...And taunting an angry B.O.W.
