This week in class we are watching the film Slumdog Millionaire. I have been looking forward to this week in class since I saw it on the syllabus day one. I have never heard anything but great things about the movie, and have always wanted to see it myself but have never gotten around to it. I saw that the movie was on television a few days ago, but decided to refrain from watching it until class time so I could enjoy seeing it for the first time. However, I will probably end up having to rent it on my own time anyways to help with a writing assignment about the film, because I know now that viewing Stranger Than Fiction for a second time would have really helped me write better papers about it. I do plan to take diligent notes on the film during class to help me later but I know it would still be a better refresher to watch the movie twice. Going in to this week I honestly do not know any great details about the film other than the basic plot and that it won many awards, but after hearing nothing but great opinions about the movie combined with those awards it has always been a movie that has captured my interest. My only expectation is that it will be better than Stranger Than Fiction. I did not completely hate the movie but I definitely did not think it was great either and I have much higher expectations for Slumdog Millionaire.
