So its one of those late nights, or early mornings...my dog decided to have a bitch fit and now I can't sleep... that happens y'all know after a five pound animal repeatedly runs over your face barking at the top of their voice. So I'm not sleeping now. I went out with Jenn tonight, we talked about a whole lot of nothing, I'm all talked out. Brian called me again today, with his uncanny ability to upset me, I wanted to throw my phone, worse is wtf did he even call me for, because right off the bat he started in on shit. BLAH! So that put a bit of a damper on my shopping high. But then Jenn and I ventured to ACMOORE... and for y'all that know the cape, it is college and greek *by greek i mean in the fraternity way, deficit here... nope that 4 c's crap don't count for shit. So yeah, we're walking around... and BAM!! There was a paddle section, yes a paddle section complete with example paddles... I GOT SO EXCITED!! I was like ahhhh damnit I miss my sisters... Jenn said I had a greek-orgasm... I won't comment on that. Then later tonight we ventured to barnes and noble... saw some townie get arrested, and watched him resist too...stupid bitch. Then we actually hit the bookstore. I picked up that book pledged, the sorority exposed... yeah, um way to go champ. she portrays us in a wholey negative light, yeah there are downsides, but she doesn't even mention that when stuff goes wrong you've got a number of women that chose you and you chose, that will be there for you, indefinitely ... my bonds are something deeper than drunker fraternity parties, and cute shoes, it is a love for something that we all share, a love for the oaths we took and for what our letters stand for. Ms. Robbins managed to miss out on that, as well as exposing the so called dark side of sororities... interesting question...would these organizations have lasted as long as they have if they had evil connotations the whole time. I think not, all greeks have letters that represent the ideals of humanity... and though it may not seem it in college, these ideals are used as guides to allow us to further grow into good, solid people. Yes, I said it, no one is actually grown up in college. And she ignores that fact. Not so hot for a journalist out to uncover the truth... its easy to write a book that exposes what the world wants to see, more difficult to write about how there are ties that bind in this world and being a greek is one of them. Maybe its just down to the bitterness that she didn't get to rush at Yale, and that the Skulls probably found her unworthy as well. Revenge is a dish best served cold, maybe she's the one that needs to grow up, not the sorority girls. Anyways, I'm sure there'll be more to read when I finish that book.
Maybe I'll try another go at sleep.
