...to get a hotdog?
I went out at lunch - it's actually sunny out today - in search of a hotdog from my fave vendor. I travelled underground because there was an errand to be run on the way, but came back to street level across from the corner where the hotdog cart is set up. Wow. What a crowd - not just people, but vehicles parked on the sidewalk!
It wasn't until I got a little closer that I realized the news vans sported call letters starting with a W. And the police car said 'Orange County Sheriff' on the side.
Well, fudge. Are they still filming
that movie? Yes, yes they are.
Winnipeg is a body double for many US cities, and many eras (old west, anyone?) and has had all kinds of movies filmed here - major studios, indie - and we're also home to some of the hottest special effects folks in the business (remember 'Swordfish'?). So, yeah, pretty cool for the most part. If you're into that sort of thing. Personally, I'm not a star watcher and don't try to be an extra, so it's just a curiousity as I'm passing by.
I did get my hotdog, by the way, but someone had to guide me through the moving and setting up of vehicles so I could continue on the walk back to work. Ah Winnipeg. Such a popular city.
well, except with rob lowe, because he couldn't watch a basketball game or something and tweeted about being stuck in a hellhole...
So, anyone have big plans this weekend?
