LOCI is a bad influence

My icon was a gift from h_bomb1013!

The season premiere of Law & Order: Criminal Intent a couple of weeks ago sparked an interesting series of commentaries and theories. They all centered around the wobbly desk, hereafter known as the Desk of Innuendo.

Couldn't Major Case afford a real desk for the newest investigator? Why did Deakins press down on the desk, emphasizing its wobble? What did Logan's facial expression mean? Why did Eames snark about the "nice desk"? What exactly was she implying? Why did Deakins insist on placing the Desk of Innuendo right in front of his office - with a clear view to DoI and its occupant? Was there something in his tone of voice when he said "so I can keep an eye on him"?

h_bomb1013 and jenntrennuyen lead the pack with speculation, even going to far as to cap certain scenes to support their various theories.

And so I blame them for the creation of the unbelievably annoying plotbunny from hell that has invaded my life.

All other writing and graphics projects are on hold until I kill deal with this little...creature.

The Desk should be posted in a few days. I can't believe I'm actually writing that.

::shakes head in disbelief::

I wonder if the Desk of Innuendo will be seen in future eps? Or will it be sent back from whence it came?

Thanksgiving weekend, so I'm at a friend's place all day tomorrow - probably won't get home until 10 or so. And I'll be totally exhausted. It's a sitdown dinner for 40+ people. And since I'm considered to be like family, I go early to help cook, set up, keep my friend and her husband from killing each other in a stress-induced rage (I think that's mostly why I'm there, actually), then help with serving, cleanup and whatever else needs to be done.

It's loud, chaotic, and a tradition I wouldn't want to miss.

Now, off to watch part 2 of Casanova. I understand there'll be a version of this coming out soon with Heath Ledger.

::is puzzled:: Why bother? Might be good for a laugh, but really...the BBC production is going to prove to be the superior one. DT is Casanova. And Peter Carlisle. And at Christmas he will be the Tenth Doctor, too.

::dims the lights::

::hits 'play'::

::sighs in contentment::
