random mumbo jumbo time!

*I love 7th grade-esque chat rooms and the fantastic juxtapositions that ensue. (In keeping with this 7th grade esque theme, I am rocking the asterisks to separate my points in this entry. It's v. K* and J@-'--)

*I got my escort assignment for the Messiah dinner. (Yeah, who knew I'd come to college and join an escort service, right?) I get to escort James and Marlene Kirk. From my googling, James is the director of businessy something at the U of M Credit Union. Not as exciting as I'd like, but I'll take it; at least I got someone to escort! I'm really glad he's bringing his wife, too, because I think that'll largely cut down on awkwardness. [my greatest fear was getting a very awkward musician or something of the sort] I'm looking forward to it now! Hopefully all goes well on the dress front. I would also like you to know that in my guidebook for this event it tells me "don't talk about inappropriate subjects." Good thing Marion put that down...who KNOWS what may have happened had I not seen that?!?

*Are you ready for...the Love Actually potluck event of the season?! Date is still tba, I have to work it around my wisdom teeth's removal and such. But much like others limit themselves to Christmas music until after Thanksgiving, I am not letting myself watch Love Actually until this shindig, so that I will appreciate it that much more. I am so excited though, today I listened to like 2 songs off the soundtrack and I got SO excited. Oh it's so cute.

*School can be over approximately...now. In all my classes everyone's so checked out already, it's great. Like my poetry class, today we talked for like 45 minutes (granted the class is three hours but...) about changes that could be made in teaching English in elementary/middle/high school. Didn't really have anything to do with our class, but whatev. Good reminiscing was done about the BSC, Boxcar Children, Jacob Have I Loved, The Hatchet, The Giver, etc.

*The snow today was glorious. Sitting inside my poetry class, I couldn't wait to get out in it. I really hope it SUPER snows soon and we can make snow angels and snowmen and other lovely things of the sort.

*Is it weird that I'm looking forward to next Thursday because it's (as GK abbrevs it) a hdoo? (holy day of obligation) For some reason I really like hdoos. And this one's about Mary, who's pretty much the pimp shizzle, some would say. So that's neat. I can't wait to go to church at home, though. There's really something about OLGC that I love. December 18, can't wait. (and then the day after, the fabulous Writing Center party!!!)

*OK tis time for bed. (orig I meant to write it's but it came out tis...I like it though, seems festive for some reason) Adieu!
