Comment to this entry and I'll pick up to three of your fandoms. You must then update your journal and answer the following questions:
1. What got you into this fandom in the first place?
2. Do you think you'll stay in this fandom or eventually move on?
3. Favorite episodes/books/movies, etc?
4. Do you participate in this fandom (fanfiction, graphics, discussions)?
5. Do you think more people should get into this fandom?
From dootchan: Capra, swashbuckling annnd... nudibranchs
Fritjof Capra (Systems thinking & Ecoliteracy)
1.) What got you into this fandom in the first place?
You know... I think it was something I picked up while combing through the Barnes & Noble science section. But basically, systems science really resonates with me.
2.) Do you think you'll stay in this fandom or eventually move on?
Absolutely stay. I might find other authors/visionaries I like, but no one will replace Capra.
3.) Favorite episodes/books/movies, etc?
Book: The Web of Life
4.) Do you participate in this fandom (fanfiction, graphics, discussions)?
I did go with Jess to one of his lectures with the Center for Ecoliteracy & had my books signed. That was awesome! :D
5.) Do you think more people should get into this fandom?
Yes! You will feel so much better about the universe!
Swashbuckling
1.) What got you into this fandom in the first place?
Princess Bride initially, then Talk Like a Pirate Day, PuzzlePirates...
2.) Do you think you'll stay in this fandom or eventually move on?
Yarrr! Yeah I think once you go pirate, you really can't go back. Infact, I just bought my first boat...
3.) Favorite episodes/books/movies, etc?
Princess Bride still tops the list
4.) Do you participate in this fandom (fanfiction, graphics, discussions)?
I actually swashbuckle, I don't fan over it. ;D Especially when there is liquor involved.
5.) Do you think more people should get into this fandom?
No! We don't need any more greenies in these waters! GARRR!
Nudibranchs
1.) What got you into this fandom in the first place?
My fascination with mimicry & biomimetics. And my Invertebrate Zoology class. Besides they're so beautiful that I can't see how one can know of their existence and NOT be into them. Not only are they pretty but they are also quite sneaky and deadly. They eat things with 'harpoons' (like anemones) and instead of getting shot, they find a way to steal them - unfired - and deposit them in the setae on their backs to use em themselves! Amazoring!
2.) Do you think you'll stay in this fandom or eventually move on?
I couldn't stop loving nudibranchs, even if I tried.
3.) Favorite episodes/books/movies, etc?
Species? I could never choose. Once I find one thats mind-blowingly strange looking, I always come across another, BETTER one.
4.) Do you participate in this fandom (fanfiction, graphics, discussions)?
I did a large presentation about them once, but nowadays I fan over invertebrates in general more than nudibranchs specifically.
5.) Do you think more people should get into this fandom?
YES! Save the sea slugs!
Go look! They're fuckin COOL!
