[It's cold. He's just seeking warmth.]

Body heat will better stave off hypothermia, doctor. You may be invulnerable to such things, but I am not.

[Spock immediately shifts as close as possible to the immortal doctor, trying to pull whatever warmth he can from the other man's body. The temperature in the cave is steadily dropping, not yet below zero but fast approaching it. He is not particularly comfortable with the intimacy of the act of sharing warmth, but he is relieved that at least it is someone he has fondness for; someone he trusts.] Many thanks.

impossible to resist. :D nurse_cchapel September 23 2010, 18:43:29 UTC
[If Christine is both suprised and delighted at this, she's not letting either emotion show on her face, just a little bit of worry as she glances down at him and pulls the blanket tighter around him.]

You'll be alright.

I a-apologize. I am extremely sensitive to the cold. [A shiver runs through his body and he presses closer to her without realizing he's doing so. He won't deny a sense happiness at being so close to the woman he's grown fond of, but he wishes the circumstances were far pleasanter.]

I know. It's fine. [She shifts slightly to accomidate him, rubbing her hand against his arm while her other, fingers annoyingly numb, try her communicator again, to no avail. Since she still has her medical kit and it hasn't started snowing yet, there's ways this could get worse. It's her one consolation, aside from the slightly abstract enjoyment of Spock cuddling her.]

((ooc: don't worry about it, I love you and your delightful Spock anyway. ♥))

[Spock buries his nose against her shirt, the appendage among the first to have gone numb from the cold. He closes his eyes against the seemingly inevitable arrival of his own death-by-freezing and breathes in short puffs. When he speaks his words are slightly muffled.] The likelihood of our surviving this is... quite low. It grieves me that you are here; though you should know of all the people I could share the last hours of my life with - I am pleased it is you beside me.

((ooc: That pleases me greatly, as I am quite enamored of you and Christine as well. <3))

Indeed? [Spock can't feel the tip of his nose, and the pointed ends of his ears are dark green from the cold. He does not lean away from her touch, but nor does he lean into. He simply stands still, except for the motion of pulling his thick cloak tighter around his body.] You sound certain, captain.

[It's always something on these diplomatic missions; one test or altercation or absolute catastrophe after another. Spock shivers violently.] If ever we find a planet where diplomacy is welcome I will surely drop dead from the shock.

[The words are out of his mouth before he realizes he was thinking them, and he snaps his mouth shut in embarrassment. It was something his mother used to say, something that, apparently, stayed with him since his childhood. The low temperature must be affecting him more than he realized for such a slip to occur. His cheeks flush green, but he hopes the green tint already there from the cold will hide it.]
