Today was not a good day.
Started out dandy. I got to see Alanna for the first time in days. I had a pretty successful quiz in English. I made an 82 on my most recent physics test, the best I've ever done and the first time I've passed a test. Spanish was groovy, as always. I talked with Kaylyn a bit at lunch. I actually had what I consider a decent meal. Took notes in history. Played through The Grinch in band. Reviewed a bit in algebra.
All sounds peachy, huh? Well, I'm making a 67 in English and a 66 in algebra. I'm two chapters behind in history, and I've lost my tuner's ear for timpani.
Wow, I haven't wallowed like this in a while. I told my mom about my failures in the classes, and she took it extremely well, thank God. I'm going to have those two grades up. But, it rankles me. The algebra grade is less of my fault than the English grade. The English grade is directly linked to the homework Mrs. Garrett gave to me before I left for D.C. I flat out didn't do parts of it. Hello, two zeros and a sixteen. I algebra is directly linked to a 25 I made on a make-up quiz I took the day I got back over stuff I had to figure out on my own on the plane. I obviously figured it out wrong. I have no one but myself to fault for history, and the tuning thing is just frustrating. I was able to tune timpani last year, and when I pulled out the timpani for The Grinch, I found that I was tone-deaf.
Well, and not only have grades and musicality contributed to the uncoolness of this day, I have money issues. Colorado is damn expensive, for one thing. For another, I left out Dad's tamale order overnight, and now owe him money. And, I just remembered that I still haven't mailed in the money for the pictures I bought at Duncanville.
Today was grand.

You know, that was going to be the end of that post, but I just thought of something else from today. Alanna made me smile.
