The passenger complaint letter to end all passenger complaint letters. Nice.
Also, Plan Colombia on has
an interesting piece on the workings of Colombia's drug economy from the perspective of a former paramilitary leader who was extradited to the US last May, I think. In other news, I saw The Wrestler earlier this evening with a buddy and wow. I think I grew up largely in the generation that didn't know who Mickey Rourke was until Man on Fire and Sin City, but I think the consensus is that he's actually a magnificent actor. The film as a whole is very depressing with short bursts of laughter that erupt, in my opinion, out of necessity more than anything else. The performance as a whole is seamless, though the bit in the bar was the closest to forced the movie ever got. As a whole, the movie was a very strong marriage of actor and story, and I imagine it's already been said countless times: "Mickey Rourke was born for this role". But I found it a very probing and insightful film about self-destruction and the entertainment we often find in it, often like when the Romans would cheer at the lions and gladiators in the pit, their faces contorting to mirror the expressions of the very animals they jeered.
