Cinema Report #23 - Brick Mansions

I didn't know this was a remake, especially not that one of the heroes was the same again and that the director was the same, too, but I don't think that knowledge is necessary to enjoy this action movie.
It's Paul Walker's last (complete?) film, I believe, and it's a pity. He might not have been the greatest actor, but he was a good looking guy and it seemed he trained really hard to perform those Parkour scenes with that French actor (David Belle). Such skills always impress me a lot.

As expected, the story wasn't too complicated and the biggest surprise was that one of the bad guys turned out to be not so bad, after all. Is this a new trend to have more than one antagonist and that only one of them is really evil out of pure malice, while the others just are kind of misunderstood and misguided? It's not a bad concept.

I'll probably keep an eye out for French actor now, since he did quite a good job.
And it proved again that you can judge a film by its producer / writer. I'm not a big fan of French movies, most of them are just kind of odd in my opinion. But Luc Besson generally creates good stories.
