Cinema-Report #12 - Non-Stop

I really do like Liam Neeson in action movies. He's a great actor and can do almost anything, but despite him being not exactly a young handsome chap (anymore) - like Jason Statham (who isn't a very good actor outside his action genre) - the vengeful action-hero suits him.

This time, he's not out and about to rescue a family member from kidnappers, instead he has to deal with a terrorists on a plane who try to put all the blame on him. "Non-Stop" is also not unlike a classical "whodunit", or rather the modern version of that, where you may have a theory who the bad guy is, but there are a lot of wrong trails and misleads and it's just fun to try and figure it out before it's revealed. Usually I arrive at the solution rather slowly, because I enjoy following the story (and the wrong leads), but this time I was rather proud that I had the right idea where this was going :)
Of course, there are some logic-issues in this story, but that's ok in that genre. If I get a compelling plot, good action scenes and a main-character that keeps me hooked to the whole thing, that is enough.
And Liam Neeson is very good at looking desperate and angry - or both at the same time. He also gives a good impression of being dangerous and more likely to first hit you before asking questions, when you are the bad guy facing him.

I wonder how this film might be in a repeat viewing, after all, I know now who the bad guy is. Perhaps I simply wait a while to try that, my poor memory might serve me well in this case ;)
