I believe it's high time that I start updating my blog again, preferably on a regular basis. And since I don't have a diary or calender this year in which I to record the movies I've watched, I'll do that here for now.
Beware, I try not to, but there might be spoilers to the films I've seen in these posts. In general, I just want to leave a note and my opinion about them.
I started this year by watching "Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones", which is the fifth movie in that series.
To tell the truth, I am not entirely sure if it's chronologically the fifth one or if it rather happens parallel to the last one or something like that. In any case it turns out in the end, that it certainly ties in nicely with the original storyline.
It wasn't very remarkable as far as horror movies or this particular series goes, but it wasn't bad either. There are some funny moments and some pretty scares, too. The "heroes" are kind of honestly stupid, meaning they are a bunch of ghetto-kids that are pictured right from the start as being not too bright. Nevertheless, some of their actions are dumb even for them, like the classical "going into a creepy and dark cellar".
I liked it very much that at least a side-character tried to do something proper about the threat, although it was of course rather pointless because guns don't help much against demons. And he should have been smart enough to go in with more than one buddy. Nevertheless it was fun and worth a try.
Another plus was that there was a good, little special effect, since those movies usually don't have much of that, so it came as a nice surprise.
So, this was my first cinema-report.
It feels good to finally have blogged something again.
Now I'm looking forward for the last episode of Sherlock season 3, His Last Vow, although I also dread it a bit. It's bound to be rather dramatic after all the fun we had in the first two stories.
