Some quick thoughts I've been meaning to post about
1. Go-Go dancing is great fun (even when sauced-again laughs at me) and I'm looking forward to the next lesson.
2. I was inspired by vayshti's entry on macarons last year but it has taken me a while to act on that inspiration. Let me say to all of you: it was a foolish, foolish delay. They are heavenly.
I've tried two sources so far: Cafe Vue in the city after an excellent lunch and the bakery chain Laurent. Laurent is more easily accessible but the macarons from Cafe Vue are better - they have that perfect crisp outer shell and light, slightly chewy interior in the meringue and clear intense flavours in the creamy filling. Laurent has great flavours too but the meringues were just a bit too chewy and I thought that they added just a little too much filling for proper balance.
3. I ran out of Zen on the weekend, will have to pop out to the shops to pick up some more. It's just irritating having to do without.
4. Brush and Bel have welcomed Baby Liam. It's wonderful news and I send them lots of love.
