Some interesting information on Cinco de Mayo. I was curious about its origins (other than it being a Mexican holiday related to some war, which I assumed had something to do with independence). This is probably not the most useful thing to be updating on, nor is it really revelant to many other things, but the story got me worked up enough to yell vocally in outrage and amusement so I think I'll throw out a few of my thoughts. New Year = new style I suppose, though really I just wanted something different and it happens to fit with the new year. While most people might post about the holidays or New Year's/New Year's resolutions or just reminisces about the last year, I'll post some writing instead. Or I will once I post it to my writing journal. Then I'll put up links.

Never thought I'd see the day...

It's just a sketch that I inked over (except the hair which is partly inked, partly colored pencil), but I'm really loving it(subtleties...yes I think so). It was distracting me from finals...

Geez, I appreciate how they (the college cafeteria/food department) were trying to have healthy, fresher food but...it took 10 minutes waiting to get in plus another 20 minutes or so to get food and I didn't even wait as long as some people. There were long lines for various foods I don't feel like going into. One that stood out was lobster more ( Read more... )
