Once again, I was carrying a bunch of shit around that was making me unhappy and I wasn't aware that I was doing so. And, as usual, all it took was someone asking me a simple question like, "What are you up to?" to open the floodgates.
mandylyn called me from DC while waiting for her husband who had missed the bus. She just called to chit-chat and ended up getting an earful about how my classes are making me crazy.
cabell emailed me to see if I could play CoH tonight. She got a rant about how I want to drop one of my classes but it's too late.
rebeccahines forwarded me someone's resume to proofread. She got to hear me whine about how one of my professors is a total slacker.
After I was done with all that, I realized how much I had been carrying around and I felt much better for having let it go. Thanks, guys.
I do have a lot to do but I'm already halfway up the mountain. There are things I can't control and I'm just going to have to work around them. It's nothing I can't handle.
Further, I am going to let myself off the hook and stop worrying about an unreasonable and pointless expectation I set for myself. It would be nice to keep my 4.0 GPA but if it doesn't happen, it doesn't happen. It's not like it matters at all in my field. As long as you have the piece of paper, no one cares how you got it.
So, yeah. Feeling better. I just have to try to remember that I'm never really alone in all this. It's just very easy to forget that when there's so much to do.
