distance makes the blog grow fonder

Hey Livejournal,

It's funny. I sit for seven to nine hours a day in front of the internet but I don't really check or post to livejournal while there (at Laika) because my friends page is so "NSFW," all those dirty photos and sexy cartoons. So I miss you, Livejournal. Both reading your updates and keeping you updated on my life.

Laika got busy the last few days, but it's still fun. I feel pretty much like I know how to do my job, and it's more interesting, laid back, and respectful than anything at the Film Center. Burgeoning talk of me coming in for part ("or all") of the next two more weeks, filling out the rest of Melissa's absence. So that's a good sign, I hope.

Last night got drinks with Lauren and Kathy. Gil joined us. Good times. A waitress who looked like a young Maria Bello was--if you were to believe the ladies--"totally hitting on me." Only served to make me realize how unready I'd be for a girlfriend right now. Financially, emotionally, domestically (I don't even have a place of my own!), and healthistically: I'm out of shape and don't feel particularly good about myself. But the night was rad anyway.

Better than tonight, where plans for drinks were blown off a little too casually and I, more bummed than I wanted to admit, failed to do anything worthwhile with the rest of the night.

And now here I am: ten to 1am, gotta wake up in 7 hours.

Going to bed.

dear livejournal, girls, laika, inane, job
