The one sentence I could remember most clearly was something like this: "You woke up every morning unable to remember what you'd done the day before; in some cases, unable to even remember who you'd been the day before

I never finished it! If I do, I'll post it. It was set on the Valiant, during the year that didn't happen, and it was based on the idea that the Master had seen Jack, knew how important he was to the Doctor, was still in possession of all his mad hypnotizing skillz, and had 18 months to find Jack--who at that point would have no clue who he was--and brainwash him before he ever rejoined the Doctor.

Before that was done, while we were still discovering the extent of our powers, it was chaos. You never knew, waking up, who you were now or what you'd done the day before. It was terrifying
