And I'm off for two weeks! Yeah!
Tomorrow night is the annual Gala for Expats and Returning Chinese Scholars. This will be my fourth time seeing it.
Ruthie has been having bowel issues, culminating in one truly gross instance of actually having to physically pull a stool out of her. The vet thinks it's stress - makes her drink less water which leads to constipation. Couple with mostly full anal glands, she was ripe for a problem. She's doing better now, but I'm supposed to give her carrots or crunchy veggies (steamed) to munch on to add to her fiber intake. This is the dog who will crunch veggies into mm-sized pieces without actually eating them and leave them all over the house. I am going to try mashing them up and adding them to her food tonight. Let's see if she can pick them out of her Ceasar's wet food. :)
IKEA delivered our new wall shelves yesterday. They come to install them tomorrow. We ordered to plain shelves (one long, one short) to put up over the TV, and over the couch will go a series of metal DVD racks. I'll post pics once they're up - installer comes tomorrow.
We have internet! More to the point, we have wireless! OMG, how have I lived without wireless??? Being able to surf online while in my nice warm bed instead of freezing my ass off at the desk. :) I also got my NDS but it has a Hong King plug which means I can't recharge it yet. So close, and yet so far. *sigh* Once more into the Taobao breach...
Last Sunday,
angel_katchan and I went and saw
African Footprint, a South African dance troupe at the Grand Theater. It was amazing. These guys danced like wild, gyrating maniacs for an hour and a half without stopping! There were abs and shoulders and pecs everywhere - male and female! My only complaint was that there were no CD's of the performance being sold. I loved the two songs 'We have been here before' and 'Children of Africa'. Amazing, amazing show. Go see it if they happen to come to your area. They're touring China for the next few months before moving on.
I want to travel... I don't know where though. I have some money saved, and I'm debating about whether or not I should just give in and buy a cheap flight to Cambodia or Vietnam for a 3 day weekend or something. The other part of me is saying, 'don't! You don't know when/if you'll need that money!' Decisions, decisions...
