Despite the corporate world getting totally screwed by the holidays this year (Both Xmas AND New Years on a Saturday) I was able to do quite a bit for the Christmas weekend without going home!
Friday night I watched Music Station, which had all the top artists performing (including L'arc, which was surprising), took a bubble bath, and then slept for about 12 hours into Christmas morning-Apparently, I was tired this week 0.o
Saturday I bought a Christmas cake at the store (which was half off?? I guess they go bad after 24 now ::snigger::) and met up with Jordan and some of the other JETs for a day of junk food and movies: V for Vendetta, Muppets Christmas Carol, and Avatar.
There is something to say about Japan and how they view foreign holidays. For one, someone needs to straighten out the difference between "Christmas" and "Valentines Day"! Everyone works Christmas Eve and Christmas day, regardless that there's all the same holiday hype around here. They go on couples shopping dates Christmas Eve, and Christmas day is simply 'the day after christmas'. Erm, not quite Japan, but I'll give you the points for effort :P
Also, there's the fried chicken thing. How Col. Sanders bamboozled the nihonjin into believing his Secret Recipe was a Christmas Tradition, I have no clue. Yet, when we ordered pizza at Jordan's on Xmas Day, the delivery boy (in a santa suit!) handed us a complimentary box of chicken nuggets (with mayo filling btw) because it was baffling to the pizza place that ANYONE would not be eating Fried Chicken on the 25th. @_@. I almost wonder if they saw our order and were like "wait, they didn't order any chicken with it?? That must be a mistake...We'll just throw some in for them. I mean, won't they be upset when they realize they forgot to order the fried chicken??" XD
However, there is something they got right: POST CHRISTMAS SALES ON THE 26th!
Which I fully plan to take part in before my date this evening! Byeeeeee!
PS. I also finally revived my WoW account from last month's mishap. It's glitchy, at best, but I can play now :D I plan to play through most of the New Years weekend, since most people I know are going to be on Vacation. PLAY? :)
