Random Life Tidbits
My pumpkin pie was a success! I made it last week and between me, my mom and Jonathan it has completely disappeared :3 It really wasn't as difficult to make as I thought it would be, but then again, baking rarely is ^_^. I also made Yaki-Onigiri, but because I put the top down on the Foreman grill, they looked more like Onigiri-Roadkill instead :P Still, they tasted awesome, and I plan to make/freeze more for lunches this week (though, incredibly, I'm running out of rice in the house, and my parents won't let me buy more because I'm leaving soon. I think I just need to find a smaller bag of it then last time.) I may also try some kind of Okayu recipe or something like my host mother used to make. I know I'm going to want that when I get over there in the dead of winter and catch a cold.
I'm also excited because Ami is coming to visit me for a weekend before I leave! She'll be here the weekend before Thanksgiving, but only for about 2 days. I'm already planning on Saturday night being Dressy/Drinks and then to go see the New Moon movie at some point (Hot shirtless boys and BARELY any angsty-Edward character to ruin the movie-Who else wants to come??)
And Halloween is in 4 days!! I don't know where I'm going yet, but I'll find something to do! There's always the Bridge event down Mill Avenue to enjoy! I think I'll be Cleopatra without the fangs this year. And I don't care what happens-I'm carving a pumpkin of my own! Even if it is some simple Jack-o-lantern and it sits outside a house that doesn't do trick-or-treat this year, that's my favorite part of the holiday (Aside from dressing up and checking out everyone else's costume-Oh, Hell. I just love Halloween)!
