Heroes, 2x01: Four Months Later
So, most of you guys took care of writing reviews that had, y'know, actual thoughts and meta and intelligence. I, on the other hand, would like to indulge in some ridiculous capslockage.
HOOOOOMG DID YOU GUYS SEE MOHINDER THROW THAT GUY UP AGAINST THE WALL AND BE ALL BADASS? I THINK I MELTED INTO A PUDDLE ON THE FLOOR AND HAD TO WATCH THE REST OF THE EPISODE FROM A GELATINOUS STATE.
Mohinder fondling a spoon should not have been half as naughty as it was. Sendhil + Apple = OTP and clearly, Mohinder + Gold Spoon = OTP.
And, yeah, as quite a few people have pointed out MOLLY HAS TWO DADDIES JUST GIVE IT UP HEROES AND ADMIT THAT YOU ALREADY HAVE QUEER CHARACTERS ON CAST.
I'm not seeing the Matt/Mohinder yet, though. I'll need a little bit more convincing.
Do you know what I am seeing, though? MOHINDER/NOAH LIKEWHOA. THEY ONLY HAD ONE TEENY-TINY EXCHANGE OF WORDS AND IT NEARLY KILLED ME. Of course it helps that both of them were exercising a high badass quotient during said phone conversation. Really helps. But that exchange was just DRIPPING chemistry all over me and really, really makes me want to read some hot Mohinder/Noah taking-down-the-Company-and-having-hot-sex-while-doing-it fic. And Peter should join them.
I can't wait to see badass-and-short-haired!Peter meet up with badass-I'm-a-hotass-double-agent!Mohinder meet up again. I suspect their dynamic will be hugely different from what we saw previously (and if they ever write in some kind of tie-back to that first cab ride I'LL DIE OF HAPPY).
Maya and Alejandro have all the promise of rocking. I like that Maya's power is dangerous and was wondering when they were going to broach that topic. Reading some X-Comics definitely drilled it into my head that not all these mutations are going to be roses and flying, so it's good to see them bringing that into the fold this season.
You know what would be hot? (Hey, I never pretended that I don't slash for the pretty.) Maya/Simone. That'd be ridiculously hot. And it wouldn't be that hard to write an AU where Simone is still alive, would it? And possibly give her a power that would make it so that she and Maya would have to team up and share their angst and beds.
I know, I know. No one will ever write this. A girl can dream, though.
HIRO CONTINUES TO BE ADORABLE. AND ANDO IS HELLA SLASHY WITH HIS DAD. Also? I want his father not to be dead. Because that is le sad. :( And we need to know more about that picture with him and Angela LIKE NOW.
The Kensei thing is a little... o_O I'll wait to see where it goes. Seems like no matter which way they take it some fans are going to be disappointed, though.
Nathan, OMG, Nathan. You poor, poor bastard. Your love for your brother continues to be one of the bedrocks of this show in a scary way. And that beard which was so hideous on you, the actor, WORKS REALLY, REALLY WELL ON YOUR CHARACTER. Freakishly well. I think I might actually like it and want to read emo!porn about it. O_O
Molly is so great. I <3 Molly. And the girl is lucky! Two fantabulous daddies, at her service. Hopefully they kick the stuffing out this boogeywhoever soon and let the girl have some fun kiddy adventures with Micah.
I also adore that they brought us into the timeline without much explanation or exposition, and the actors pulled it off. Very nicely done.
Characters I missed: Jessica (& Micah and DL), Candice (woe, no more Candice? *tears*), Claude, Audrey. R.I.P. Simone who I'll probably still bring back in an AU fic I'm not planning. Also, HEIDI, WHERE IS MY HEIDI? I WANT HER BACK, KRING, YOU BEST RETURN HER IN PRISTINE CONDITION.
Characters I didn't miss: Janice. Good riddance.
