Okay. I'm a rather forgetful person. I should have put this up on here weeks ago.
Democracy Day!
Democracy Day is a new event being held on the 26th of October.
The FREE day is open to all self defining members of the following LGBT caucuses: Trans, Students with Disabilties, Women, Black and Bisexual. If you identify into any of the above you are eligible to come to this event.
The aim of this event is to provide a guide to the democratic structures of NUS and to talk about the structures that prevent underrepresented groups from getting involved. This day will look at the issues you want your national LGBT campaign to take up and give you the power needed to do that. You will be able to meet with other self defining LGBT students and discuss the issues that matter to you.
The three topic areas for the day in line with annual conference zoning will be Education and Welfare, Stong Student Unions and Society and citizenship. Hopefully these areas will cover all the topics you want to discuss and more.
The Day starts at 10am till 5.00pm with breaks and a break for lunch. Lunch will not be provided. If you are interested in this day please email lgbt@nus.org.uk and look out on nusonline and officeronline for more information alternatively call Kat Louis on 07813571919.

Wednesday 26th October
Start: 10am Finish: 5pm
Open to LGBT selfdefining Trans, SWD, Women, Black and Bisexual students.
I know this is really short notice if you've not heard about this yet (although I hope your union LGBT officers would have been sent this info and made it available) but it would be really great if we could get as many trans people there as possible.
