Yeah, I know it's a little early but I've seen the cards in the shops already and over the weekend I read my first thread on Christmas, so I'm going to pitch in with how much I hate Christmas!

Sure, there is the giving of presents and the general merry making. The laughing and the singing and the jolliness of the whole thing.

Christmas for me has never been bad, but I am slowly coming to grips with who I am. I grew up very close to my family so I learned how to ignore my pain and depression when around them over the last 15 years or so. I guess I love getting to see all my family, but I have to admit it will be awkward coming out to all of them, especially since I see everyone during Christmas time.

Maybe you can find an FtM friend who has the same problem (but opposite, of course) and you can do a gift exchange.

I've always enjoyed christmas regardless, but I also have the problem with getting loads of inappropriate presents. I'm FtM so I usually end up with loads of girly things, and I try to be grateful but it's always a little disappointing.

Increasingly over the years I'm just blunt and tell my family what I want for birthdays and christmasses, though that doesn't always work with my family. Last year I told my mum I wanted a new dressing gown, and she got me a fluffy pink one. xD I guess I should have specified..

I have my own reasons for hating Christmas, so I'm with you there. This year will be the added stress of--I'm sure my family won't use the right pronouns or name, so I'm not even traveling the 50 miles to see them. I'll volunteer in a shelter or soup kitchen where I can just BE Patrick, and never was Monica. I'll deal with the BS on another day when I'm not already hurting.

I'm open to a card exchange, when the time gets closer if you want to do one.

I'm pretty sure you should come and spend Christmas with me and my parents. They're not excellent, but they're generally accepting of my friends (just not so much of me. XD)
