Congratulations on making it through.

Some of the VA hospitals are good with trans services, although there are official denials that any have provided surgeries. Not assuming you are going in that direction, but it might be handy or encouraging to know.

What?! After almost being outed by a mental health provider on base a month from my separation, ever since I've been incredibly adverse to any VA help, well I don't mind the education benefits. I'll have to research it more.

To be clear - the important word is "some." Here in Boston, there is a good policy statement which was released from the Jamaica Plain VA hospital. See this article:

Thank you Heidi for the welcome and the compliment!

I came for a sense of community, it's just.... so hard to find anyone who understands. It's frustrating sometimes when friends and family try but just end up tripping over themselves and sometimes hurting me unintentionally.
