I love my program director...

My program director of my Paramedic course is awesome.

About a week ago, I sent an email to all of my instructors stating the fact that I am female (since I have been getting called male pronouns). It was polite and all was good.

On last Thursday, my one instructor called me female several times. During a break, one of my classmates said to him: "You know what you did, right?" he said "no, what?" He then said "You called him female" and my instructors response was "Well, SHE is FEMALE" and walked away.

During the class (since I don't look feminine and don't want to cause major issues, I was just using the men's room - I usually use the unisex bathroom when it's available), that same classmate came back to my instructor and said: "If she's a girl, why is she using the boys room?" and my instructor said "Drop it NOW".

After that, he shared my email with our program director and relayed the dissatisfaction from the student.

Tonight, he had a sit down with me (in private) and we talked about stuff. I showed him my ID which shows my legal gender of female. After that, he said "I am going to have a talk with your classmate and tell them that this type of behavior will NOT be tolerated and if it continues, SHE WILL BE HERE, YOU WON'T BE". At that point, we shook hands and I said thanks!
