On The Prowl [closed to Daimon Hellstrom]

Near the entrance to Hydroponics - she had actually never ventured deeply into it - Patsy Walker sat and concentrated on a single, pale yellow flower on a bush. It wasn't a flower she could identify, but it was pretty, and Patsy figured that this was a good flower to practice her fledgling telekinesis powers on. As luck would have it, Patsy didn't have to look very far. Daimon had made a habit of taking Dog to the Hydroponics every day. It was good exercise for his pet, although Daimon noticed that it was getting harder and harder to chase after him. Which is precisely what he had to do that day once Dog had seen some sort of animal in the brush.

Red in the face, winded, and covered with leaves, sticks, and other brush, Daimon came into sight. He was carrying his pet and admonishing it under his breath.

"I hope you enjoyed yourself, you spoiled brat. I should never take you here again. Perhaps then you- Patsy!" Daimon's eyes went as wide as saucers and he nearly dropped Dog. "You're- you're back."

Patsy heard Daimon admonishing the dog before she saw him. Her lips parted in a hesitant smile and she waved at him. She didn't want to seem overly excited or anything. "Hi!" she said perkily. "It's, ah, been awhile." She looked down at Dog with interest. "Who might this be?"

"This?" Daimon looked down at his alien pet. "This is Dog. I forgot that you haven't seen him before. He was one of the puppies I rescued on Zokez II."

Dog chirped and struggled to get out of Daimon's arms.

"And he's not on his best behavior."

Daimon still couldn't believe Patsy was back. It had been so long since their 'marriage.'

"He's adorable, regardless," she said, reaching out to pet the little green furball. He reminded her a little of a Chihuahua that Hedy Wolfe had briefly owned before it had run away to safer pastures. "Wait. Dog? Really?"
