Her head had started to ache last night. A dull throb that had dulled through the night, but was still present as a tiny tinge when she woke up this morning, feeling quite unpleasant, considering that she hadn't quite gotten much sleep.

Having dawned a pair of jeans and a t-shirt, and slid her feet into her flip-flops, she enters the Med Bay with a sigh, stopping at the center with her hands on her hips, looking for the blasted AI who'd patched up her leg the last time she was in here.

"There's not a doctor around," Samus looks up when she hears another enter. They probably all left Samus alone to be frustrated with her kid once his leg was set. "You'd have better luck calling one over the comms if you need one."

She hadn't noticed that there were more people besides her in the Med Bay. She whips around to the person who had spoken, still a little irritated what with the migraine still there. "I'd prefer to not bother anyone but the AI at the moment, tha--"

She then sees the small child on one of the beds, and then the woman who had spoken to her, next to it. "But do you need a doctor?" she asks, her bad mood washed away by concern.

"No," she shakes her head and goes onto explain, "He's already seen one. I'm just waiting for him to wake up."

"I see..." Nura is still standing there, one flip-flopped foot tapping against the floor, then stopping. "Are you this child's mother?" The woman and the child don't really look anything alike, but the way that the woman is by the child...that protectiveness...must be maternal.

Samus hesitates. She wasn't technically Komali's mom, but she might as well have been. Hell, even Komali called her that. Still, it felt strange to admit it when actually asked...

Quickly though, she nodded and with confidence answered, "Yes, I am."

"Then you have an adorable child," Nura says, looking upon the child with a smile, which became a brief wince when her tiny migraine made itself known once again. Sprock it!

But she pushes back the next round of a sore attitude, and instead says, "I'm Nura, by the way. It's nice to meet a fellow ship-mom."

"Samus Aran," she extended her arm for a handshake. Even in mom-mode, she couldn't shake that professional habit.

Nura takes Samus' hand and gives it a shake. "That's a very proper name, Samus. It has a ring to it." She smiles somewhat wryly. "What is it that you do on the ship? I think I have heard of you somewhere...I just can't quite remember where."

"Security," She answered quickly. "I recently took over the department when Kennedy was elected captain."

"Oh. That's right!" she laughs more to cover her embarrassment of not knowing the charges of the ship. She knows Wanda is on the Council, but that is because she cares enough about Wanda to be aware. "Congratulations, by the way."

"Oh, hm, thank you," she guesses. She just did what came natural and ended up getting promoted. There isn't much to be congratulated about in her mind.
