The battle raged on, but while the crew fought valiantly, the Ohm continued to come at them at full force.
Something had to be done, or they would soon be overrun.
Cargn, ever thinking of the larger picture, had released his familiar,
Unit XXVI, at the beginning of the battle. It flew high above the battlefield, watching, waiting, searching for one

Yet it was here that was the best place for striking at the heart of the swarm, where the Node waited.
If they were to have any hope of winning, it was here they needed to stand and fight.

The swarms of Ohm in front of him were massive. They needed to be cleared away.
If Superman was the type to show off, he'd grin as he pulled back his arms, then brought them together as fast and strong as he could. The resulting clap would lead to a massive sonic boom, the shockwave shattering glass all around and sending Ohm flying in its wake.

He opened fire as the Ohm poured around him, pumping out shells as quickly as he could. One by one, he took out some of the oncoming Grunts, but it wasn't nearly enough.
One of them managed to get in too close, slamming him to the ground and sending his shotgun flying. Bri drags himself back up to his feet.
Hand to hand wasn't normally his thing, but he wasn't totally defenseless. He waited for the Ohm to slash at him, ducking to the side. With his opening available to him, he brought his leg up, slamming his armored boot down on the Grunt's skull, cybernetically enhanced strength allowing him to crush the thing's skull.
With that done, he moves as quickly as he can, rushing over to where his shotgun was, readying it for more action.
He could only hope he brought enough ammo.

Nanoha had read Cargn's reports, and this was the thing that was responsible for the destruction of worlds. For the destruction of universes. The memories of Mid-Childa's violent destruction were still deep in her mind, and there was no doubt: They needed to destroy this thing now.
Her body ached even after having downgraded to Blaster-1, and she knew that - especially with Rein's departure - there was no way she could physically stand to use Blaster-3... not even her determination would see her through that one. But there was something she could do: The air was thick and heavy with spent magic. She would use that.
"Are you ready, Raising Heart?"
It answered her as it always did, faithful and at her side. "I can still fight, My Master."
"Okay." Nanoha raised the weapon - cracks hissing with steam visible on its golden surface - and pointed it at the fleet of Ohm with trembling hands that she willed to keep still for just a little moment longer. "Just... a little bit more, Raising Heart. That's all we need." And when ( ... )

That was...what was Renne doing on the battlefield? Distracted, Billy tried to look over his shoulder as he fought. He was swiftly swatted into a wall for that mistake. And that noticeably hurt.
Swinging the lance up to catch a claw that would have skewered his torso, he kicked up and jumped to his feet. From here, he could see how quickly and quietly Renne dispatched of them. It was surprisingly efficient, but he couldn't help but worry a little.
"Still here," panted Billy, slicing his way back to Renne's side.

One of their opponents sprays that corrosive acid, and it's about to hit Billy when---Renne! Worry spikes in the human's mind, and the beast responsible is dispatched with all possible speed.
Are you hurt? As he asks, more approach and are eliminated. It never ends.

"Alright, let's see what the Tactical Arms can do!" Lowe shouted as the large broadsword twisted and turned, converting into a bow and arrow of sorts. The Red Frame took aim and fired a bolt of beam energy at a group of Ohm, blowing them apart. "Woah, AWESOME! I'm not one for shooting, but STILL...!"
[Focus on the battle, Lowe! We're not done yet!] 8 chided.

Axl broke into a run towards the coordinates Cargn had provided, still taking potshots with the machine gun on the way. There was another click (he'd come to dread hearing that click) as he finally ran out of ammo, but this time he didn't have a spare clip. He hefted the gun, took careful aim at a Grunt standing directly in his path, and flung it with as much force as he could -- and even for a speed-optimized reploid like Axl, that was a lotThe gun sped forward like a bullet and slammed into the Grunt's head, plowing through it in an explosion of bug guts ( ... )

But still, he had his moments. And when he caught a glimpse of a Siberian tiger covering him -- not even a reploid with a tigerlike build like he might've seen back home, but a real literal tiger -- he couldn't quite suppress a very immediate teenage-boy reaction: oh my god, that's freaking awesome!
He didn't stop -- that would've been suicidal. But he did yell a quick "thanks!" as he sliced the limbs off another Grunt.

He demorphed briefly back to hawk form, then shot up to the seven-foot form of a Hork-Bajir. The extra blades allowed him to take on more Grunts at one time than before. His arms took out two at once while his tail and kicking legs dispatched at least four more.
< It feels good to be fighting side by side again > he said to Jake. < Although, I never thought I'd say it, but I'll be glad to make it back onto the ship. It's madness out here. >

Koishi had been helping behind the scenes, using her powers to slip past the Ohm unnoticed (though she did notice that a few had tried to attack her) to help some of the other crewmates deliver desperately needed supplies, and one such run had taken to where the cloud of Ohm was it's thickest.
She couldn't feel the pain so many other people were feeling, knowing that this was exactly what had happened when their homes were destroyed... but that didn't mean she couldn't understand emotional pain like that. And she knew that somewhere out there, her friend Sasami might be fighting, and the huge beam of pink light she saw just moments before told her that Nanoha was fighting, too ( ... )

"Hypnotism - Memory Trace!"
A host of thin tendrils of light emerged from an orb at Satori's hands, most of the power focused into the tips. They extended slowly, with little direction... then started rapidly darting towards anything that Koishi's barrage missed, like harpoons of ligiht.
