Down below the Pod Caverns was the Medbay. Most of the crew had been down there before, for one reason or another. The parts of it they had access to were currently empty of life -- and, as a matter of fact, empty of undeath as well

Now that she's wearing clothes again (the living nature of the plantsuit barely takes her notice, past that she'd rather have her own biosphere back, thanks), Tess is much more comfortable.
But there's two other reasons, too: what seems like a weird, massively overbuilt square-framed pistol on her right hip (nearly more like a sawn-down shotgun, if not for the strange frame), slid into strapping sprouted by the plantsuit; and, on a strap over that shoulder, a plain ol' shotgun. Other pockets have sprouted on her plantsuit, too, for ammo (in magazines for the pistol-thing and loose for the shotgun).
She's guided Miku along relatively firmly-with her left arm wrapped around her, in fact, half-hugging her. It's strange... Tess was so panicked and discombobulated down in the pod caverns, and now it's as if she's become a whole other person, totally in control of herself and much more aware of the situation.
"He-eeey," she calls, looking around. "Any of y'all deaduns, come on out 'fore we get too far..."
It had been hard not to do much else but whimper at the way Tess was holding her; the bruises made everything hurt. Certainly, she was glad to be out of Zombie City, but when they told her to take a weapon Miku hesitated. I can't, she had said. I don't know how to use them, and they're illegal, besides!
So, Tess had decided to give her a baseball bat, which she now clutched between both hands. She still felt... decidedly off, but at least she wasn't suffering as much from the feeling that small child had washed over her. It was just plain, simple, queasiness from hearing the sound of killing. If Miku had a choice, she'd never enter the pod caverns again, just to be safe from watching the violent deaths of those poor other people again. Cowardly? Perhaps, but a person didn't go poking a beehive to be stung on purpose, either.
"You... probably shouldn't do that, Oren-san," Miku whispered. Why call trouble to them? It would find them soon enough.
"I th-think you should stop holding her like that," Chopper told Tess. Chopper was still a little terrified of his company but at least they weren't out to kill him... yet. And his keen sense of smell told him that there were no undead hiding in the room. So far, the blue-nosed reindeer was safe.
Another fortunate thing for Chopper was the fact that he recovered his hat, backpack and some rumble balls from the Weapons and Possessions lockers they were guided to after being clothed and cleaned -- What the hell were those tentacle things!?
Now more or less prepared to do some work, he set off about the Medbay looking for items and ingredients that could help him treat people. There were many machines and instruments he had never seen before and he felt like a kid in a candy shop. Many sorts of drugs and medicines too, but since he didn't know what they did, he decided to leave them. Maybe someone could show him what they were for after they got out of this mess.
“Finally!” Kadaj pushed past the two girls and that weird thing. “You guys are really pathetic.” It was comment made to sting about their inability to handle the stress of the situation. He didn’t get his black jumpsuit back but at least Souba was safely in his possession. Like hell was he letting it out of his hands anytime soon. Unfortunately for these suckers this weapon won’t be available to save them
