Howard was too young to catch the Furby craze in 1999, but he sure knows about them from Youtube videos of them being used in prank calls. What he didn't realize was that the off-switch was either impossible to find or non-existent. So it was with mild curiosity and, as is turns out, crushing naivete that he picked it up

"....what on Earth?" Clark said, poking his head into medbay after very easily hearing the cries of the toy.

Howard's left the room again to seek some other method of Furby-destruction, so the poor Furby's all alone on the floor...covered in fire extinguisher fluid. One of its eyes is missing. So is a big patch of fur on its back and a chunk of its right ear.

"I love you," Furby says to Clark. "Furby hungry. Furby hungry. Me hungry."

Clark stared. And stared some more. "...who the heck thought it was a good idea to turn you on?"

"Someone who really should know better," Howard says as he re-enters, lugging a bucket of water with him. "In my defense, I didn't know that shaking it would wake it up. I just wanted to see if it rattled."

"You're an idiot. Those thing are the most annoying thing ever devised, not to mention they're probably made out of the same stuff they make Nintendos out of."

Howard opens his mouth to protest, then stops. "Honestly, can't argue that."
