The above pictures are from my trip to the Netherlands in May, where I played with Paulina, and fell in love again with my sassy mama (the real one, not a reference to Pina)! :)
I've been living in NYC for the past month and a bit (doing so for the summer). I feel like a bad online journaler for not having posted in so long, and for not even writing about Amsterdam, which I visited before I came to New York. But I had to make a quick post today to mention my amazing off-work break day: I went to the Rubin Museum in Chelsea today, which features Himalayan art and other Buddhist and Hindu and Tibetan art and culture - it was amazing! I was by myself and brought a kiwi in my pocket to last me until lunch, which was so worth it because I just spent hours going through the four floors. I'm so taken with eastern/tibetan art, and the tapestries and sculptures - especially the bronze Nepalese sculptures - were beautiful. The museum also had great commentary and variety in the collection. Taking everyone who visits there with me! They also have a cute indian cafe, the food was mediocre - no match for Tamarind, the cute and delicious indian restaurant a few blocks away from my apartment - but hey, mediocre indian food is still pretty tasty. After the museum I did some designer consignment/thrift and vintage shopping in Greenwich Village, then made a pivotal move in my day by going to Serendipity 3. Its a well-known, kitchsy cute dessert place in UES that is perpetually wayyy overcrowded. Being alone got me a table in 5 minutes though, definitely a place to go alone if you don't want to wait. The sundaes are huuuuge though and will make you never want to see a sundae ever again, and that's after hoisting a white flag half-way to the bottom of the plate :/ :0
My day ended with a wonderful run by the hudson river and a refreshing shower. :)
