i don't know if its the circles i go around these days (toddlers, young
families, overworked grads,) but i'm finding that most of my laughs
come from making faces in the mirror (no shitting, sorry, couldn't
resist a corny one) and things i read.
just a couple that i came across today.
1. re-reading Salinger's Catcher in the Rye. and truly, its one of
those rare books you actually enjoy with equal or more pleasure the
second time round. or it could just be me. i was just sitting in the
park, nursing my chocolate milk bought amidst a recent health craze,
and sputtering intermittent laughs before a crowd of amused kids. it's
great rambling writing really, and the neurotism that goes on is really
qt like a retro male version of Sex and the city.
2. browsed through some article in the
Economist
on Turkey joining the EU and all that. wasnt really paying much
attention to what it was saying as i tried to find familiar cities on
the map provided. but then i came to the end of the article, which
described their legendary Ataturk as " looking a bit like the actor Ralph Fiennes with wrinkles", which i swear just completely cracked me up. Not least of all cos its The economist.
