So today was another one of those interesting, kinda fun days. I went with Cathrine to her grandmother's 80th b-day party up in Senoma. We left here at about 10:15am and got back around 10:00pm. The day was fun, I got to see some people i already knew and some recognized me. The grandmother remembered my last name but not the first. Typical of old people to remember a hotel name.... But it was cool, we had fun. We burned a slug to death right outside her aunts house, that was REALLY fun.
We are both pretty sick right now, Cat more than myself for the moment. So we used up almost all my dayquil. I bought the box 3 days ago too. I have been sharing them with her though, so it was expected to go fast. I feel much better after some nice, over-the-counter, drugs.
Cathrine slept in my arms, in the car, most of the way home, cuz she was tired from the night before and being sick an just generally having a long day. For about the last 45 minutes of the ride I had that old song we learned as kids in my head:
You are my sunshine,
my only sunshine.
You make me happy
when skies are grey.
You'll never know dear
how much I love you.
So please don't take my sunshine away.
I don't know, I just hadn't thought of that song for a long time, then i saw it in a movie used as a political song. Somehow, I think it makes more sense, and is worth more, when sung when thinking of another =)
It may not be fast, it may be old and worn out, but I love that song.
I love you Cathrine
