2012     HD480p 60MB   HD720p 144MB   HD1080p 211MB
Full trailer for Roland Emmerich's (Independence Day, The Day After Tomorrow) delayed disaster movie. This time it focuses on an academic researcher (John Cusack) who leads a group of people in a fight to counteract the apocalyptic events that were predicted by the ancient Mayan calendar. If there's room between the special effects there will also be Amanda Peet, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Danny Glover, Thandie Newton and Oliver Platt.
It pains me to see that Emmerich pretty much remade his previous movies, including the usual family-is-the-best scenes. But those are moot points. If you watch an Emmerich movie you want to get informed about the effects of the increase of computing power on the possibilities of special effects in disaster movies. And he once again delivers and if you're interested then you should watch this on a big movie theatre screen. And he sure found another nice way to destroy the White House.

Cold Souls     HD480p 35MB   HD720p 100MB
Surreal comedic drama in which Paul Giamatti, who plays himself, agonizes over his interpretation of "Uncle Vanya." Paralyzed by anxiety, he stumbles upon a solution via a New Yorker article about a high-tech company promising to alleviate suffering by extracting souls. He enlists their services intending to reinstate it once he survives the performance. Complications ensue when a mysterious, soul-trafficking "mule" borrows Giamatti's stored soul for an ambitious, but unfortunately talentless, Russian soap-opera actress. Rendered soulless, Paul is left with no choice but to follow the trail back to St. Petersburg. David Strathairn, Emily Watson and Lauren Ambrose are also part of the cast.
Comparisons with Being John Malkovich are inevitable but I think there still aren't enough absurdist comedy dramas.

Zombieland     HD480p 29MB   H720p 84MB
Two men who have found a way to survive a world overrun by zombies. Columbus (Jesse Eisenberg) is a big wuss, but when you're afraid of being eaten by zombies, fear can keep you alive. Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson) is an AK-toting, zombie-slaying' bad ass whose single determination is to get the last Twinkie on earth. As they join forces with Wichita (Emma Stone) and Little Rock (Abigail Breslin), who have also found unique ways to survive the zombie mayhem, they will have to determine which is worse: relying on each other or succumbing to the zombies. Imdb also lists Bill Murray making an appearance as a zombie.
My first thought was, oh no, not another zombie comedy. But it turns out there's room for one more. Have a look, it looks pretty funny.

I Hate Valentine's Day     18 MB .wmv
Edit: Hi-def quicktime versions: 480p 28MB   720p 85MB
Romantic comedy set in Manhattan, where a florist (Nia Vardalos, who also wrote and directed) who abides by a strict five-date-limit with any man finds herself wanting more with the new restaurateur (John Corbett) in town.
The main news here obviously is that the movie re-unites Vardalos and Corbett, the stars of My Big Fat Greek Wedding. But I'm afraid that's the only thing noteworthy here.

Burma VJ: Reporting from a Closed Country     UK 22MB    US 20MB
Given the current events in Iran some info about a documentary that gives a rare inside look into the 2007 uprising in Myanmar through the cameras of the independent journalist group, Democratic Voice of Burma. While 100,000 people (including 1,000s of Buddhist monks) took to the streets to protest the country's repressive regime, foreign news crews were banned to enter and the Internet was shut down. The group recorded these historic and dramatic events on handycams and smuggled the footage out of the country, where it was broadcast worldwide via satellite.
The doc is already in limited release in the US (and will probably soon be shown on HBO), the UK will follow next month. Two trailer versions to choose from, also an article about the movie.
