Here are the most note-worthy files. A four minute trailer apparently to be shown at ShoWest, a new, full international trailer and a four minute featurette. Cast members include Emile Hirsch, John Goodman, Christina Ricci, Matthew Fox, Susan Sarandon, Scott Porter, Hiroyuki Sanada, Richard Roundtree and Benno Fürmann.
As mentioned before, not really my cup of tea but I have to admit that it all looks quite thrilling.
The Escapist 13 MBDramatic prison thriller from the UK in which a man (Brian Cox) sentenced to prison for life decides that he has to escape when he receives a letter that his daughter is critically ill following an overdose. Among the various cast members who support his escape are Dominic Cooper and Joseph Fiennes, among those who oppose it are Damian Lewis and Steven Mackintosh.
I have a feeling a lot of guys will like this for the story and girls for the cast.
Glass: A Portrait of Philip in Twelve Parts 32 MBPortrait by Scott Hicks (Shine, Snow Falling on Cedars, No Reservations) of composer
Philip Glass. Starting in July 2005 he followed him for 18 months across three continents - from his annual ride on the Coney Island "Cyclone" roller coaster, to the world premiere of his new opera in Germany and in performance with a didgeridoo virtuoso in Australia. It shows Glass' working process, family life, spiritual teachers and long time collaborators.
I laughed quite a bit at the joke at the end of the trailer. I still remember it quite vividly. Many years ago, late at night, I came across a movie on TV. I wanted to go to bed but I wasn't able to stop watching. It was totally mesmerising. The movie was Koyaanisqatsi for which Glass had written the score.
The Children of Huang Shi HD480p 37MB HD720p 91MBAnother theatrical trailer from the US for this historic drama inspired by true events about a young British journalist (Jonathan Rhys Meyers), who, with the assistance of a courageous Australian nurse (Radha Mitchell) and a Chinese partisan fighter (Chow Yun-Fat), saves a group of orphaned children during the Japanese occupation of China in 1937. Movie re-unites Chow with Michelle Yeoh who plays an aristocratic survivor who befriends the journalist and who has also been displaced by war. Directed by Roger Spottiswoode (Under Fire, Tomorrow Never Dies, Turner & Hooch).
It still looks a bit melodramatically forced but at least they were able to make a decent trailer without voice-over.
Australia Intro 28MB On Set Photography 48MBIn the coming weeks there will apparently be a special
educational series of 10 podcasts that will follow the making of this movie written and directed by Baz Luhrmann (Moulin Rouge!, Romeo + Juliet, Strictly Ballroom). You can read
more about it here. I don't have iTunes installed so I have no idea if this is for free or if you have to pay for it. But if you're interested maybe you want to have a look at it.
The movie is an epic romantic action-adventure set in northern Australia prior to World War II. It stars Nicole Kidman, Hugh Jackman and David Wenham.
Edit:
the_grynne confirms that access is free. I also added Luhrmann's intro and the first part. Download is recommended.
